The quaint market town of Amersham is recognisable from many loved films and TV shows, including Cuckoo, Midsummer Murders and the 90s classic, Four Weddings and a Funeral. Although you may recognise modern day Amersham from these filming sets, the town has a history that stretches back to pre-Anglo Saxon times, but it was only following the arrival of the town’s Metropolitan Railway in the 20th century that Amersham really developed into the busy town that it is today. Amersham has a beautiful small town feel but still plays host to many popular high street retailers and a number of big chain restaurants.
