Chatora is a restaurant in the heart of Richmond Upon Thames that offers exceptionally unique Indian dining, perfect for your next private dining experience. All of this is led by head chef Sunil D'Souza, who uses a blend of more contemporary techniques along with Indian traditions, to turn the best of British produce into flavourful dishes that will leave guests hungry for me. There is something for everyone on the menu, from seasonal seafood to vegetarian and tandoor specials. A rich menu with many textures and flavours, each dish is inspired by India's diverse landscape and is a testament to its wide and wonderful offerings. If you’re looking for somewhere to host your next private dining experience in Richmond, this could be the place for you.
Inside Chatora the space is quite moody and cosy. You and your guests will be seated in a private space, ready to enjoy all that Indian food has to offer, whilst surrounded by laughter and ambient lighting. To start, you may enjoy the papad basket with three homemade chutneys or the crispy aloo tikki chaat. Of course, there are starters on the menu of samosas, onion bhajis, a range of tandoor dishes and dahi puri, too. Another stand out starter is the sexy chicken, consisting of chicken strips marinated in a lavish spice mix, with green slit chilli and roasted sesame seeds.
Your main dish may be the aubergine poppyseed with garlic and ginger, a paneer lababdar with cottage cheese, tomato and fenugreek, and the breadfruit mix veg kofta which is a breadfruit dumpling in a creamy tomato sauce. If you're looking for a classic, you'll be pleased to spot the chicken tikka masala and a selection of biryanis on the menu. On the side of your meal, try the signature specialty of Chatora black dal, or the bhindi masala. Then, you can peruse options of rices and breads.
