Concierge & VIP Manager

Overall Purpose

You will deliver venue finding services to our customers, assisting in the planning of events for both our corporate and VIP bookers with annual enquiries exceeding £5 million. This multifaceted role entails responding to event briefs, creating proposals, attending site visits and building relationships to facilitate the seamless execution of our clients’ events. The role also involves going out to meet with SquareMeal Venue clients to gain a comprehensive clear understanding of what they offer make sure of a seamless pairing with customers.

Responsibilities

• Venue Finding – finding the best venue for our customer’s event briefs by ensuring you are up to date with the latest and most interesting venues across the UK
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with restaurants, venues, and suppliers to ensure access to VIP experiences for our concierge customers
• Interact with clients via phone, email, and in-person to understand their preferences, recommend dining options, and assist with special requests
• Run the Concierge service in a professional and effective manner, keeping all relevant parties up to date with enquiry timeline
• Manage the SquareMeal loyalty points earn and reward levels to ensure we maximise profitability
• Define and grow our corporate and VIP customer audience
• Own the communication to our corporate and VIP customer audience
• Collaborate with other departments, including sales and editorial, to support integrated concierge campaigns

Key Account Manager

We are looking for a Key Account Manager to sell our highly successful digital advertising packages to the hospitality industry to both new business leads and existing accounts.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years sales experience, preferably in media, with knowledge of the restaurant and events industry preferable but not essential.

The role would suit someone who is sociable, confident, self-motivated and wants to work in a fun yet driven sales environment where hard work and results are well rewarded.

Business Development Executive

The candidate for this position will excel at creating and closing new opportunities. By using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers.

Your duties will include:

• Meet and exceed sales targets
• Successfully create business from new and existing customer accounts
• Contacting prospective clients and speaking with decision makers
• Creating quotes based on client requirements

Editorial Internship (12 month and 3 month placements available)

We are looking for an editorial intern for a placement at SquareMeal. As an editorial intern, you will be part of our small, busy editorial team, responsible for lots of written content, as well as creating video content for social media channels.

During your placement you will have the opportunity to:

• Write! Writing content is a big part of the job - the SquareMeal editorial team produces a huge amount of content every month and you’ll be a key part of that. You’ll be required to write news stories, features and listicles, restaurant and venue descriptions, and restaurant reviews.
• Create social video content - SquareMeal has multiple busy social channels and we post lots of social content to engage with our audience. You’ll be required to create fun, engaging social content, particularly social videos for Instagram and TikTok.
• Learn how to create SEO-friendly content - understanding how to create content with SEO in mind is a vital part of being a digital journalist. We’ll show you how to do that over the course of three months.
• Experience working in an exciting, fast-paced media organisation.

Required skills:

• Must be a competent writer and native English speaker, ideally with some experience of writing either in a journalism environment or at degree level
• Interest in food and restaurants is vital
• You’ll need to have great organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines

This placement is an office placement - the editorial team is based at SquareMeal’s offices in Vauxhall, London and you’ll be required to be in the office four days a week, with one flexible work-from-home day a week.

Restaurant journalism placement (4 weeks)

We have a small number of opportunities for four-week work experience placements at SquareMeal.

We are looking for students and graduates with an interest in online journalism, restaurants, events and food to work with the editorial team at SquareMeal’s Vauxhall offices for four week placements.

During your placement you will have the opportunity to:

• Attend restaurants for review (when/where appropriate).
• Experience working in a fast-paced media organisation.
• Train in writing SEO-friendly content.

The editorial team is office-based so we are not able to offer this placement as a remote working placement. You’ll be required to be in the office four days a week, with a flexible work-from-home day each week. The placement is unpaid, however we do offer a one-off payment for the four weeks towards expenses.
