As the epicentre of the UK’s culinary scene, London is blessed with food from nearly every corner of the world. A melting pot in the true sense of the word and a destination for foodies in search of something a little less ordinary, our world-famous city plays host to something for everyone when it comes to eating out.
After what could generously be called ‘a challenging few years’, 2024 has seen London’s hospitality industry battling back against tough economic conditions and doing what it does best - delivering unique, creative, delicious experiences for diners. Each year that goes by brings a slew of exceptional new restaurants to all corners of the capital, and 2024 has been no different.
Many of the restaurants in this year’s list are debutants - a reflection of the talent that arrives in the capital with each passing year - but just as many are old stagers and veterans of the London scene. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the shiny new things, and that makes it all the more exciting that our number one restaurant in London for 2024 is anything but. A perennial high-flyer and award-winner, Lyle’s blew us away when we revisited it this year. With its stripped-back geometry and whitewashed walls, Lyle’s juxtaposes London’s more glitzy, maximalist restaurant interiors, whilst the kitchen delivers some of the very best food anywhere in London. On the eve of its tenth birthday, Lyle’s is as good as it has ever been - a worthy champion in our Top 100 list.
London’s embarrassment of restaurant riches is evident across the entirety of the list - these 100 restaurants are the city’s elite. You’ll find a diverse range of cuisines, styles and price-points to suit every occasion and appetite - a true snapshot of the city we’re proud to call home.
A huge congratulations to each and every restaurant which placed on the list of top restaurants in London – with such intense competition a place anywhere on the ranking is a massive achievement.
Aside from our annual round-up of London’s top restaurants, we simultaneously announce our list of the UK's Top 100 Restaurants which similarly place 100 of Britain’s best dining spots in order to represent the culinary talent of chefs in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England.
