Canning Town is a district in London's borough of Newham, to the east of the capital. Here, you'll find a really rich, diverse community, that truly is multicultural with so many amazing restaurants, events, festivals and markets that celebrate cultures from across the world. The opening of the Royal Victoria Dock in 1855 really shaped the history of Canning Town, and it was the first of London's docks that was designed with steamships in mind. Due to redevelopment after the war, a lot of Canning Town is fairly modern, but that doesn't mean there isn't a strong feeling of culture here.
