Tooting is a district in South London, and is part of the London Borough of Wandsworth. It's been voted as one of the top neighbourhoods in the world to visit, and is frequently regarded as one of the best neighbourhoods in London to settle down, especially if you have a family. It's the home of the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and is an area with a real melting pot of culture, with restaurants that take influence from all over the world, a range of independent bars and pubs. Tooting is also home to the UK's largest freshwater open air swimming pool. Although it's not too far from the very centre of London, it's got a more calm and laid back feel. It's a popular choice amongst young professionals and families as it has a great selection of schools, nightlife, restaurants, green spaces such as the Tooting Common, and much more to offer. For some history facts, you may be interested to know that Tooting has been settled since pre-Saxon times, and although the name is of Anglo-Saxon origin, the meaning of it is disputed.
