Bagshot is a village in the Surrey Heath borough of Surrey, roughly 25 miles outside of London. Historically, Bagshot was part of a royal forest and home to a royal hunting lodge during the Tudor and Stuart eras; now, this is known as Bagshot Park. In 1880, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, the seventh child and third son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, took residence at Bagshot Park, living there until his death. The estate saw its next royal resident move in during March 1998 when Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, leased it from the Crown Estate for 50 years. Although Bagshot has a limited number of activities, it is home to charming parks, scenic riverside paths, and cosy pubs.
