If there's one city with character and unique charm to boot, it has to be Edinburgh. With its winding streets and historic haunts, there's nothing typical about Scotland's buzzing capital. And so, whether you're a local or just a fan, if you're a quirky couple looking for somewhere different to celebrate your big day in Edinburgh, you need to check out Rollo Broughton.
This female-founded, intimate wine bar has plenty of atmosphere with small corners, cosy decor and candle light. The team are passionate about good food and drinks, with an expertly-curated wine list and selection of plates, from smaller sharing bites to bowl food and larger dishes, too. The team are incredibly friendly and excited to host your celebration, so in terms of capacity, food choices, music and decorations, simply give them a call, email or Instagram message, and they'll be happy to set up a meeting to go through the options.
A great thing about having your wedding reception at Rollo is the food and drinks offering. To kick things off, it's all about the cocktail list which makes for great inspiration for your welcome drink to guests. They have everything here from crowd-pleasing classics, to their own take on the likes of a Negroni or Martini. We're most interested in the signature cocktails, though, which offer something a little different. How about the Killer Cougar with tequila, rhubarb, chili, corriander or sugar?
As for food, if you imagined a standing reception with drinks and canapes, there's lots of delicious-sounding small bites to try. We wouldn't be able to resist the signature, hand-rolled haggis bon bons which come with whisky marmalade. Then, there's bowl food such as slow roasted lamb salad with feta, mint, roasted red pepper, rocket and lemon dressing, or try the larger plates like Coraled King scallops with truffled cauliflower puree, raisin gel and crispy lotus root.
