The Glasshouse is a boutique hotel in Edinburgh that regularly hosts weddings throughout the year, boasting a wedding license as well as accommodation and a roof garden for ceremonies.
This building was once the Lady Glenorchy Church, with a history that goes back many centuries, but inside the hotel is comfortable and modern, with all the amenities you expect from a top hotel. As a result, guests get the best of both worlds - the couple will walk through the hotel’s original 172-year-old Georgian archway as they enter the hotel, straight into a slick, modern space that is bathed in natural light thanks to a procession of panoramic windows.
The most popular, unique location on offer is The Glasshouse’s Calton Suite and roof garden, which looks out onto historic Calton Hill and further towards the Firth of Forth. The suite itself has capacity for around 100 guests standing, and can be used as a ceremony or reception space. It also provides exclusive access to the rooftop garden - a sprawling outdoor space that is perfect for al fresco wedding ceremonies and drinks parties.
With a variety of other rooms and pergolas where you can undertake your vows, The Glasshouse is one of Edinburgh’s most unique wedding venues. A variety of packages are available, all of which include red carpet arrival, a Scottish piper, as well as dancefloor, a wide selection of food and drink options, personalised table plans and lots more. The hotel can also help with evening entertainment and extra catering facilities, like an evening barbecue on the rooftop lawn.
The Calton Suite can also host a seated wedding breakfast for up to 80 guests after the special day, as well as evening buffet receptions for up to 100. The Glasshouse’s weddings team are experienced and extremely helpful, so get in touch with any questions.
