When it comes to a venue for hosting your wedding celebrations, a steak restaurant might not be the first thing that springs to mind. But for Hawksmoor in Edinburgh, you’re going to want to make an exception. Housed within a stunning Grade A listed building that was formerly the National Bank of Scotland Banking Hall, the 165-cover restaurant has been artfully refurbished to maintain its immense sense of grandness and history. Boasting two beautiful private dining rooms perfect for wedding parties, large and small, Hawksmoor Edinburgh is equipped to ensure your special day is everything you imagined.
The Teller’s Room is its largest private dining area, an elegant, light-filled space that can accommodate up to 46 diners. Long banquet tables are lined by comfortable burgundy seating, while wood-panelled walls, large arched windows, high ceilings, and wood flooring feel suitably warm yet impressive. The Mclellan Room is a smaller but just as special space for up to 13 guests seated around one circular dining table. Both rooms are fully private but offer views into the main restaurant.
A selection of feasting menus are served in the two private dining spaces, which allow guests to experience a range of Hawksmoor classics and different cuts. All are centred around the best produce that Scotland has to offer, including seafood from the Scottish coast and beef from grass-fed native breed cattle. Menus are served family style and include the likes of old spot belly pork ribs with vinegar slaw, smoked mackerel salad with potatoes and horseradish and heritage beetroot salad to start. The main event is of course steak, which is served with several sides and sauces. To finish, choose between sticky toffee pudding or a seasonal fruit pavlova.
When you enquire about booking a wedding at Hawksmoor Edinburgh, your dedicated events manager will organise in-person meetings with all of your selected suppliers, as well as as a show around and a glass of bubbles once the booking is confirmed.
