There are so many ways to do a wedding in London. From classic British boozers to fancy hotel receptions, but have you considered stowing away 100 of your nearest and dearest under a railway arch in London Bridge? Let us introduce Pedro's Wine Bar, a gorgeously authentic little spot that will have you coming back as a regular.
A Portugese wine bar, bottle shop and restaurant, the arched space features a glass-fronted facade from which natural light pours in, a 30-feet ceiling and original Victorian brick walls. The ground floor has a rustic feel with mis-matched wooden seating towards the front, cases of wine decorating corners and walls, and a cosy snug at the rear of the space with lounge seating and a white, granite bar.
Upstairs, you'll find a mezzanine, crafted from up-cycled wood, the metal sheeting overhead and industrial lighting gives the space a cool aesthetic, while the atmosphere is warm and ambient. Here, 100 guests can be seated and enjoy traditional Portuguese fare, which takes us to the menu. The food menu spans sharing nibbles, platters and hot dishes, all of which work well in a feasting style. Expect the likes of Serrano ham, salame toscano, gorgonzola and Terra Nostra all layered on a board, next to sourdough with creamy burrata and an assortment of olives.
Mains sound delicious, too, and come in the form of Bifana which is sliced pork slow cooked in white wine and served on a toasted Portuguese white bun, as well as Feijoada which is an authentic Portuguese stew with slow cooked pork shoulder, kidney beans and vegetables. Of course, if hosting your wedding at Pedro's Wine Bar you'll want a decent serving of vino, so speak to the staff about the best Portugese wines to suit your tastes.
Outside, there's a small space to take a breather with room for 26 people on garden furniture and heaters at the ready in winter.
