Pedro's Wine Bar is one of 'those little places'. You know the kind; an authentic gem that every Londoner likes to keep stored away in their black book of must-visits. Found underneath a railway arch in London Bridge, the low ceiling, rustic decor and exposed brick walls create a magic sort of ambience, which draws you in and leaves you helpless to its charms.
While most of the time its a wine bar, bottle shop and Portuguese restaurant, the space can also be hired for private events. Though it feels intimate inside, its entire capacity goes up to 150 people, making it a great place to host anything from an office off-site to a wedding.
The space is formatted into a ground floor dining area, mezzanine and outdoor terrace. On the ground floor, you'll find a mix of wooden tables and chairs, complemented by the Victorian exposed brick and glass frontage which allows natural light to pour in. Towards the back, the space becomes cosier still, with a white granite bar top and some comfy lounge seating.
Upstairs, the 30-feet ceiling really comes to life with what feels like a private enclave, where more tables and chairs can again be positioned, seating up to 75 people. The floor is crafted from upcycled wood and neutral decor allows a blank canvas for any decorations you might want to use. Finally, the outdoor terrace features faux grass, atmospheric lighting and planters, seating up to 26. In the summer, it's a great place for enjoying some fresh air, while in winter heaters can arranged to ensure the space is still used.
Catering is provided in house and takes the form of Portugese small plates, perfect for sharing with large groups. Expect the likes of hand sliced charcuterie with Serrano ham, salame toscano and chorizo, alongside flaming chourico, cooked live at the table from Beira Alta and served with sourdough bread.
