Please note that Trinity House is closed annually in August due to annual refurbishment.
Dating back to 18th Century, Trinity House is an elegant wedding venue on the banks of the River Thames. The grand Georgian building has five rooms, two of which are fully licensed for civil weddings and partnerships and all of which are tastefully decorated with maritime paintings, rich upholstery and antique furniture. Interesting artefacts in hallways and stairwells, such as the brass bell from the royal yacht Britannia, give the whole place a sense of grandeur, while views towards the Tower of London and Trinity Square Gardens are a gift to your wedding photographer.
Trinity House is superbly located within central London, close to the city and with links to Tower Hill and Fenchurch Street stations. It’s also close to All Hallows by the Tower and St. Olaves church in Hart Street, so couples can have a church wedding followed by a wedding reception at Trinity House if they desire.
Alternatively, if you’d like to hold your ceremony and reception all in one venue, Trinity House is ideal. The Court Room, with its intricate ceiling fresco painted by Pre-Raphaelite artist William Holman Hunt and large windows is a romantic setting to exchange your vows and has a capacity for 80 seated guests. The spacious Library is also a top choice for wedding ceremonies thanks to its beautiful stained-glass windows, spectacular views of the Tower of London, and Minstrels’ Gallery which can accommodate a small chamber orchestra. The Library also lends itself perfectly to wedding breakfasts for up to 120 guests.
If you’re looking for something a little smaller, The Reading room can provide a more intimate setting for seated meals of between 15-20 people. Whichever space you choose, be sure to take advantage of the sweeping Georgian staircase and the garden for wedding photos as both make striking backdrops.
Exclusive hire of the entire house is available for complete privacy, but the flexibility to choose a combination of the differently-sized rooms means Trinity House is a viable option for weddings of all sizes.
