Planning the Christmas party can be a tough gig, but luckily for you, Pedro's Wine Bar is here to make it a little easier. Located on Druid Street in London Bridge, this authentic Portuguese wine bar, bottle shop and restaurant is hidden away underneath one of the Victorian railway arches, offering a rustic setting for your event.
The space is set across two levels, on the ground floor you'll find a charming mix of wooden chairs and tables, positioned next to crates of wine, atmospheric lighting and big, old dressers full of the latest bottles. Towards the back of the space is a lounge area with cosier seating and a white, granite bar which is a great spot to enjoy a few glasses and socialise.
If looking to do a sit-down meal, the mezzanine is the place. Upstairs you'll find reclaimed wooden flooring and a corrugated ceiling offering an industrial-chic vibe, with capacity for 100 people to sit on long tables, perfect for a feasting-style meal.
Once dinner is over, why not open up the party and allow people to spill across both floors and even outside, which has some garden furniture and heaters so that it can be used all year round. With enough outdoor seating for 26 people, it's just a small bolthole, but great for getting some air if needed.
In terms of food, catering can be done in house and of course, pays homage to the Portuguese theme. Expect sharing platters full of the country's most famous foodstuffs from black olives and sourdough with creamy burrata, to lashings of cured meats like Serrano ham, salame toscano, chorizo and coppa. There are plenty of main dishes to try, too, such as the Flaming Portuguese Chouriço from Beira Alta which is cooked live at the table from Beira Alta and served with sourdough bread.
