Looking for an idyllic wedding venue in Edinburgh, Carlowrie Castle offers a backdrop steeped in history. It was built back in 1852, when Thomas Hutchinson, an Edinburgh based wine merchant and Provost of Leith commissioned David Rhind, a celebrated Scottish architect, to design a stunning countryside castle. Sadly, Thomas never saw his finished castle as he died before it was complete, but the castle indeed went on to be finished by his son and now bears the Hutchinson coat of arms above the front door. An exceptional family descendant who lived at the castle, Isobel Wylie Hutchinson has an intriguing history, and her legacy can be witnessed across the Carlowrie Estate. In recent years, Carlowrie Estate has been listed as one of the best wedding venues in the whole of the world.
Weddings at this beautiful Scottish venue can accommodate up to 275 for dining, and a whopping 450 for your evening reception. If you want a bright and peaceful setting, choose the orangery or bespoke marquee, whilst those who prefer outdoor settings can say I do in the 32 acres of Castle grounds and lawns. Whatever you choose, weddings here are totally magical. If you choose to book, the dedicated team will work with you at every step of the process, making sure that you have the wedding day of your dreams.
There are a range of packages available to happy couples when booking at Carlowrie Castle, but of course, you'll be able to work with the team to come up with something a bit personal. Packages do, however, have everything you could possibly need included. The winter wedding package, for instance, is great for those who are happy to celebrate midweek, and is available from November through to March and will help you save quite a bit of your budget.
