Woolwich has so much history to its name, and back in 1512, King Henry VIII chose Woolwich to be the place where he would build his flagship Henri Grace a Dieu, and so, a royal dockyard was established. Once, Woolwich was a part of Kent, until it became a part of London in the 19th century, where it now forms a part of the Borough of Greenwich. In modern day Woolwich, however, there is plenty to enjoy, including the many maritime, military and historic buildings, creative districts and streets that are filled with studios, galleries and shops, beautiful woodlands and riverside dining options.
