This quaint Chinese restaurant in Polar, near Canary Wharf, plates up traditional rice, dim sum and noodle dishes for you to enjoy. As you walk inside, you’re met with a tasteful line-up of modern exposed light fittings and a whole host of Chinese-themed décor including preened Bonsai trees and bamboo features at the takeout counter, waiters’ station and dotted around the venue walls. You can’t miss the bright red archway which houses a friendly Buddha either, while you’ll find each wooden table paired with a bamboo holder for bright green chopsticks.
Open every day from 11.30am until 11pm, pop by for authentic pan-Asian cuisine enjoyed as either eat-in, delivery through partnering apps and in-house delivery within a three mile radius, or phone to order your meal as take-away. Every dish is made from home-grown recipes, passed down through the ages maintaining those age-old family traditions but refreshed to meet modern London dining needs.
If you do decide to dine in, begin your meal with one of the drinks on the menu. A Vietnamese ice coffee is a great choice, along with a healthy Super Greens juice made of apple, mint, celery and cucumber for a fresh boost. If you haven’t tried bubble tea, sipping on one is a must. Fill up on some great starter-sized portions of won ton soup or one the rolls on offer, such as a spring roll or the gluten-free paper-wrapped king prawn which is finished with vinaigrette and a dusting of sesame seeds.
Order some dim sum for the table to share with a Shanghai-style bun of steamed pork, fresh ginger and red vinegar sauce or lightly grilled prawn and chive dumplings. Bigger meals include a selection of rice and noodle dishes, as well as seafood mains and noodle soups such as a pho. Try your traditional Chinese favourites of fried rice, kung pao chicken or prawn, pad thai and the Noodle Street signature dish of udon noodles with a combination of seafood, pork and salad with peanuts and vinaigrette.
