Big Apple Hot Dogs to open King’s Cross deli

big-apple-hotdog.jpgAbiye Cole is the man credited with starting London’s hot-dog revolution. His Old Street food cart was creating queues well before Bubbledogs served their first dog, and when Dirty Bones was not even a glimmer in its creator’s eye. Cole’s next venture takes him off the street and into his own deli, as he launches Cole & Sons on Caledonian Road.

Set in an old butcher’s shop, the deli will feature meat cleavers hanging from the ceiling and graffiti-art walls when it opens early next month.

Going one step further than just selling bacon, biltong, jams, chutneys, chilli sauces and the like, some of them will be made on-site. Cole will invite producers to use his basement kitchen for to prepare foodstuffs, which can then be sold via the shop.

Fans of Big Apple Hot Dogs will be pleased to hear that the famous sausages will be available to take away from the shop, while Cole also has plans to give chefs and traders guest turns cooking street food on his hotdog cart.
