Ottershaw is a village in Surrey, and sits just over 30km outside of London. The population is relatively small, but boy is it a pretty place. The village is situated in open woodlands and was once heathland. Small farms in Ottershaw became nurseries in the 19th century, for flowers and vegetables that are supplied to London. The daily journey to Covent Garden was made by horse and cart, but you won't spot many of those these days. The name Ottershaw only came around in the mid-19th century when the village adapted the name of the local estate. Ottershaw Park is a grand, beautiful piece of architecture that is a privately owned estate today, but was once a self supporting home.
