If you’re looking for an alternative setting for your annual office summer party, why not consider a street food market?
On Friday 3 May, Lewisham’s Model Market will welcome 2018 Great British Menu winner James Cochran, who will be debuting his new street food concept. To celebrate the Market’s return for summer, it will host a three-day long Bank Holiday celebration.
Model Market will stay open all summer long
The market (which handily boasts both indoor and outdoor space for that unreliable British weather) will have an extended launch from Friday to Sunday, showcasing a revamped line-up of food traders, alongside DJs, games, offers and six cool new bars.
Eight street food traders will be featured, including Cochran, who will debut his street food concept, Goat. The new venture will serve jerk-spiced goat on coconut flatbreads with a choice of sauces, building on the chef’s mastery of goat at his 12:51 restaurant in Islington.

Other traders include Thai specialist KraPow, who will be serving up their signature PowPow chicken wings, while Wandercrust will be on hand to provide wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, such as the American Psycho: salami, roquito peppers, chilli and honey.
If you’re looking for something sweet, head to Secret Nicky’s dessert stall. This street food outfit specialises in the US treat of frozen custard, with its signature dish being The Big Apple: frozen vanilla custard blitzed with hot chunks of spiced apple pie, salted caramel and almonds.
One of the featured bars will specialise in rum
Model Market launches for summer on Friday 3 May, open Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm to late, with free entry before 7pm (£3 per person afterwards).
