A major Westminster venue for conferences, weddings, and events, {10-11} Carlton House Terrace has just launched three new spaces. Supported by £5 million from the Wolfson Foundation, refurbishment first began in 2022. Now, the greatest transformation in the Georgian Grade I listed building’s history is complete. Targeting the underused lower ground floor, the £9.6 million project revitalised three adjoining double-height event areas: the Lecture Room, Wohl Gallery, and SHAPE Room.
Designed by specialist firm Wright & Wright Architects, the venues balance the rich heritage and modern outlook of {10-11} Carlton House Terrace with high-tech functionality and eco-design. Revealed at a launch event on 5 November, all three are now available to book and can be combined for exclusive hire or rented individually.
Business Development and Marketing Manage, Amie Murphy, says: ‘We were thrilled to welcome guests from across the events industry to our launch, showcasing the biggest changes our venue has seen since it opened in 1902.
‘Our diverse selection of event spaces, all equipped with advanced technology, can accommodate an array of different formats. The transformation has allowed us to meet the growing demand for online and hybrid events, as well as heighten the in-person experience. We’re excited to enter this new chapter in our history, as a future-forward venue for hosting world-class events.’
Each space is flexible, fully accessible, and offers state-of-the-art technology throughout. The renovation also prioritised sustainability, installing an entirely carbon-free heating system and double-glazed windows - making it the first Grade I listed property in Westminster to do so.
All profits generated from events at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace are reinvested into The British Academy, a registered charity committed to global advances in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
