Fairgame brings all the fun of the fair to Canary Wharf

A brand new immersive event venue is opening in Canary Wharf this October - Fairgame will be bringing a mixture of classic funfair games, street food vendors, private hire spaces and bars to the Wharf, allowing guests to revisit childhood funfair nostalgia. Located near West India Quay, the venue comprises a 14,000 square foot ground floor space, with a 3,500 square foot terrace.

There’s no news yet on whether you’ll be able to bag yourself a goldfish at the coconut shy, but plenty of funfair favourites will be making an appearance, from Whac-A-Mole and Skeeball to shooting ranges and Roll-A-Ball Derby.

Fairgame promises to reinvent the experience, with some nifty technology at the helm. Guests will receive an RFID wristband, which records all your scores as you wander the fairground and take part in all the games. The wristband connects to a bespoke app, where gamers can log their scores at each game, and see how they stack up against others on interactive live leaderboards.

This is strictly an adults-only experience, even if it’s designed to appeal to your inner child. In between games of Whac-A-Mole or shooting hoops at the basketball range, Fairgame lays on plenty of food and drink to keep you fuelled. The likes of Burger & Beyond, Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza and Dos Mas Tacos are on site, with more yet to be announced. There will also be three separate bars on site, as well as a range of private hire spaces available to large and small groups.

Fairgame is the brainchild of Gymbox founder Richard Hilton, and industry expert Paul Campbell, who has been involved with the likes of Hawksmoor, Blacklock, Vinoteca, The Alchemist and Tortilla in the past. The pair have teamed with boutique leisure property consultancy ETCH for the acquisition.

ETCH Founding Partner Richard Willcox comments: ‘Bringing new entrants to the market is something we particularly enjoy at ETCH. It was great working alongside two industry leaders to deliver something so fresh, fun and innovative.’
