ZSL London Zoo has unveiled its refurbished event space, The Prince Albert Suite.
The suite is inspired by the conservation charity’s ethos and can accommodate up to 300 guests. The design elements reflect the charity’s commitment to sustainability, with eco-friendly features including energy saving lights and natural materials throughout.

The carpet of a venue isn’t usually much of a talking point, but the one inside The Prince Albert Suite has quite the backstory. The carpet is made from recycled discarded fishing nets from the Philippines, which have been pulled from the ocean as part of ZSL’s Net-Works conservation project.

The environment is also thought of in the day-to-day running of the venue, with CH&CO (the Zoo’s hospitality and catering partner) continuously working to minimise its impact on the environment. For example, in-season fruit and vegetables are bought from local suppliers, fish is sourced sustainably, and packaging is compostable.

Partygoers danced with 'mirror head' animals
To celebrate the launch of the space, a showcase was held at The Prince Albert Suite, with an ‘Into the Wild’ theme. Guests donned their finest animal prints, while enjoying entertainment which saw face painters, LED hula hoop artists and dancers in mirrored animal costumes.
ZSL London Zoo’s Prince Albert Suite can cater for up to 300 guests and can host a variety of events from gala dinners and conferences to licenced ceremonies and weddings. There is also an outdoor terrace to make use of in the summer months.
