If you're looking for a venue in South London to be the backdrop of your next event, 100 Barrington could be the answer to making your next shindig a success. We can hardly think of a better location, situated just a few minute's walk from Brixton station and next to the famous Brixton market, this area is buzzing with music, culture and locals, as well as being a tourist attraction, too.
Originally a furniture factory, the building was constructed back in 1879 and today, boasts on-trend exposed brickwork, wooden ceiling beams and crittall windows, giving its gorgeous original features an aesthetically pleasing update. The venue is split into three, interlinking parts; starting with a central, Archway Bar. Positioned amidst the two sides of the venue, the bar which, as the name suggests, proudly features a 24 foot-tall archway enhanced with black steel for a modern vibe, creates a dramatic shape and floods the space with light. This is a stunning place for guests to drink and dance the night away underneath the statement chandelier.
The dining room is an elongated space with beautiful period details and plenty of characterful touches. Here, long, trestle tables work well for family-style feasting with a canopy of fairy lights overhead, as well as wrapped around pillars, decorating the space. You are, of course, welcome to transform the room however you wish, whether that be for a seated meal or standing reception, as well as getting creative with tablescaping and other decorations.
On the other side of the Archway Bar, you'll find the courtyard, which is a rustic space decorated with large potted plants and twinkling fairy lights overhead. In the summer, this is a great spot for welcome drinks outside, and you could add even more to your guest's experience with a pop-up food stand, like an ice cream or popcorn truck.
