There's Christmas parties, and then there's Christmas parties; if you're on a mission to organise a festive shindig that will blow your colleagues expectations out the water, here's a venue you need to know about. With a brilliant location in the heart of Brixton, 100 Barrington is a former furniture factory just a few minutes walk from Brixton Market and the tube station.
Built in the late 19th century, the building boasts gorgeous period features like a 24 foot arch, soaring ceilings and exposed brick walls. The space is broken into three areas, each one optimised for a different section of the evening, to lead your guests effortlessly from welcome drinks, to dinner and eventually dancing.
While winter might not be the ideal season to enjoy drinks outside, upon arrival the first thing your guests will see is the central courtyard, decorated with pretty fairylights. From here, you can lead them into the warehouse-style space which is perfect for dining family-style with long trestle tables, decorated in simple, chic white tablecloths. Here, you can have fun with bringing in your own decorations and adding a festive spin to the aesthetic.
Whether you plan on hosting a seated dinner or stand-up reception, when it's time for dancing, guests can be ushered into the Archway Bar on the other side of the courtyard. Given its name by the huge archway that floods the space with light and atmosphere, this seperate bar has a fabulous, statement chandelier, some lounge seating and space for entertainment.
When it comes to organisation 100 Barrington has a detailed list of suppliers which come highly recommended to help bring your event together. Not only is there an in-house events team, there's a selection of other party planners you can take a look at, as well as caterers, florists, musicians and more.
