Looking for an up-and-coming spot to impress your friends at your next birthday, work event or get together? Franklin & Baines is a newly-launched steak restaurant in South London, welcoming private bookings for up to 40 people, either in the restaurant or on the rooftop in the summer.
It has a great location, positioned in the heart of Clapham, close to Clapham High Street and Clapham North stations, which is ideal for guests coming from across London. The surrounding area is buzzing with bars and pubs, so there's lots of atmosphere as well as late-night options if you want to keep the party going.
As for keeping your guests well fed and watered, the menu starts with a selection of small plates that are perfect for sharing. Think courgette tempura, BBQ corn ribs with coleslaw dip, and sea bass ceviche with mango, avocado, red onions and coriander.
Steak is the name of the game here, and Franklin & Baines serves up quality, British grass-fed and 28-day dry-aged steak with a wide selection of cuts. Choose between hanger, flat iron, rump, sirloin, tomahawk and T-bone, all served with in-house cut beef dripping chips. Fancy a side with that? Get stuck into the truffled mac and cheese, creamed spinach or broccoli and almonds.
If any of your guests aren't super keen on red meat, there are plenty of other options, too. The caesar salad comes with chargrilled corn-fed chicken breast with anchovies, croutons, parmesan, while the broccoli steak is served with quinoa salad, tomato salsa and toasted almonds. While the pan fried hake sounds delicious with chorizo, Jersey Royals and romesco sauce.
Franklin & Baines is also passionate about serving up creative cocktails like Franklin's Rose, with gin, rose liqueur, grapefruit and lemon, or the Sweetinin with Cariel, sweet potato, Cocchi and Prosecco.
