Whether you're local to Scotland or dreaming of a fairytale setting for your wedding, with your eye firmly on those verdant hills and rugged coastlines, East Lothian is a stunning place to tie the knot and not far from Edinburgh, either.
You'll find the Dunglass Estate in the picturesque lowlands, surrounded by acres of landscaped grounds and with views out to sea. This historic estate spans a farm, 15th century church, main house, a tree house and cottages for self catering accommodation, as well as the main events venue, that's just perfect for weddings.
The estate is cared for by the Usher family, whose relatives have been managing the grounds for over 100 years. Today, they love giving couples the opportunity to say their vows here and have an events team that can help you plan your day to perfection. First off, there's the ceremony and couples couldn't be luckier with the on-site Gothic church, with weathered grey stone and a half-ruined nature, which looks enchanting for your special moment.
Where your day goes from here is totally up to you. The team have curated a selection of packages which cater for intimate weddings and huge soirees, utilising different parts of the site. You can enjoy the Stable Yard and Pavillion for your reception, which comes decked out with rustic wooden tables and cross-backed chairs, while outside there's a fire pit and facilities for a BBQ. Catering isn't provided in house but the team have a list of trusted suppliers which work with seasonal, local produce of the highest quality.
One of the best things about getting married at the Dunglass Estate is the accommodation options. Enjoy the romantic treehouse with its private hot tub the night of your wedding, while Seaview House is a beautiful period property boasting four bedrooms that's perfect for your wedding party. Additionally, the three historic cottages have capacity for six people each, so you can keep your nearest and dearest close.
