You may think of Brentwood in association with The Only Way Is Essex, as the location of many of the show’s hotspots. But this Essex town has much more history than just being famed for its appearance on a TV show. In fact, it was once somewhere that pilgrims would stop by on their journey to Canterbury, and its old name derives from ‘burnt wood’, as a clearing was once made in the forest by a fire. Several celebrities call Brentwood home, including Pixie Lott, Noel Edmonds and Frank Lampard.
