The County Hotel is found in the popular Essex village of Chelmsford, which is easily accessible by both rail and road.
The large four-star hotel is very much used to hosting a wide range of events in its function rooms, ranging from birthday parties to conference meetings. It is also well equipped to host magical wedding days, offering a personalised service all overseen by a dedicated in-house wedding planner.
The team here will help you to book rooms for your guests, as well as arranging a Bridal Suite for when you have finished dancing the night away. The wedding planner will also help you to select what food and wine you would like for the day, as well as liaising with County Hotel’s trusted list of suppliers, covering everything from photographers and videographers, to live entertainment such as a band or DJ.
There are three wedding spaces to choose from. Intimate weddings can opt for the Essex Room, which can seat 40 in a banquet-style layout or 50 standing. You can also opt to hire out County Hotel’s in-house restaurant Samphire which can host up to 60 seated guests, while larger wedding parties can hire the Crystal Ballroom, with a reception capacity of 15 guests.
When it comes to the food and drink, you can choose to enjoy a formal sit-down meal or a more casual buffet, while there is a dedicated children’s menu too if you need to make allowances for kids at your wedding. Options you might find on the menu for grown-ups include starters of slow-roasted tomato and basil soup, perhaps followed by main courses such as twice cooked pork belly with dauphinoise potato or oven baked fillet of seabream with a tomato fondue.
Your meal will be rounded off with tempting dessert options including steamed treacle sponge pudding or chocolate brownie with raspberry ripple ice cream, but remember to save some room for a slice of the wedding cake.
