Turtle Bay Northampton

Turtle Bay, in the heart of Northampton next to Beckets park and the river Nene is a good spot for a Caribbean-infused breakfast, lunch and vibrant spot for a dinner and drinks out with friends. Or, given the fact that it's right next to the gym, a perfect spot to come to when you change your mind on that workout. Turtle Bay brings some undeniable energy; the outside gives little away of the atmosphere inside, but once in pops of colour and eccentric furnishings mix with an industrial backdrop. The sound of cocktail shakers and flames from the open kitchen and jerk pit show that this place has more soul than you might expect.

The all-day Caribbean menu has tempting options to suit all needs and dietary requirements with lots of vegan and vegetarian options. For breakfast you can choose things like the big Kingston grill, a Caribbean version of the full English with jerk bacon and sausages, or the vegan grill down. The main menu ranges from buddha bowls and burgers to roti's filled with jerk chicken as well as some soul food options like curry goat hash, West Indian curries and Jerk pit dishes. Finish the meal with Caribbean delicacies like ginger cake. A list of small plates, which can act as starters, are perfect nibbles to go with drinks, including crispy chilli squid.

The drinks list has everything on it you might want but focuses mainly on cocktails - Mojito - and a long list of rums. The cocktails can be best enjoyed during the daily happy hours which offer two for one cocktails for generous hours of the day. You can also enjoy a bottomless brunch here which allows you to choose from a selection of dishes from the menu as well as bottomless cocktails, mocktails, beer or Prosecco.
