The Five Arrows is located at the gates of Waddesdon Manor in Waddesdon, and is a stunning Grade II listed boutique hotel that has a two AA Rosette bar and restaurant. Whether you want to eat, relax, dine or drink, you'll find something suitable at this grand estate. The restaurant in particular, stands out with its welcoming feel. Here, you'll enjoy the most exquisite and freshly prepared food, that uses only the best seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. In fact, many of the dishes you’ll see have ingredients that are sourced from The Five Arrows’ very own estate.
Although the menu changes with the seasons and based on what's available, you can expect to find sharing dishes for the table of artisan bread with whipped butter, the chef's choice of amuse bouche and roasted padron peppers with paprika salt. For your starter, try the traditional Scotch broth with baked cheese and haggis crouton or the miso and honey glazed twice baked cheddar souffle with a celery and apple salsa and poached apple. Time for your main? Order the locally shot venison loin and cottage pie with roasted shallots, salt baked celeriac puree and cavelo nero cherry jam sauce. If you like veggie dishes, we'd order the roasted artichoke, lemon and pine nut risotto with black garlic cream, parmesan and baby artichokes.
Some of The Five Arrows' favourites include the Waddesdon Estate lamb, cumin and redcurrant pie with smoked mash, and honey roasted carrots, parsnips and red wine braised cabbage. When it's time for pudding, try the nutmeg waffle with salted caramel marshmallow, chocolate sauce, banana and Biscoff ice cream. There are always a list of seasonal ice creams and sorbets on the list, along with a selection of British cheeses.
