Twine is the flagship restaurant at Ansty Hall - a magnificent, 600-year-old red-brick hotel in the Warwickshire countryside, just outside Coventry. Serving breakfast and dinner seven days a week, this elegant restaurant is also the beating heart of the hotel, offering comforting, elevated British cooking with a gentle thread of Indian influence.
Inside, Twine keeps things classic with mid-century furniture and cosy furnishings. Huge, heavy curtains tumble down over the windows from the top of this double-height room, whilst patterned chair backs, lampshades and fabrics soften the edges of the dining room, keeping things homely and relaxed.
British ingredients feature heavily on the a la carte, whether it’s salted butter whipped with Lincolnshire Poacher cheese, mackerel fished in Cornwall, Wye Valley gooseberries or Vale of Evesham broccoli. Head chef Ryan Swift brings seasonal British produce together on a compact a la carte that keeps things classic. At the time of writing you’ll find dishes such as chicken liver parfait with cherries, gingerbread and sweet wine, Cornish cod with Jersey Royals, prawns and salty fingers, and duck with apricot, fennel and chicory. There’s a good selection of desserts too, including an apricot bakewell to share between two, and a dessert of chocolate, cherry and almond, as well as a cheese board stacked with British cheeses.
You can also expect an extensive drinks selection that includes a top class wine list and pre- and post-dinner cocktails too. Ansty Hall also offers special dine and stay deals, offering credit towards a meal at Twine for those who are staying overnight in the hotel.
Meanwhile, the breakfast menu has all sorts of goodies to choose from, ranging from home-baked pastries and sig rolls ro seasonal fruits, granola and porridge. There are also a range of cooked breakfasts, including a full English, smoked salmon crumpets, and a Staffordshire oatcake with fried egg, bacon and sauteed mushrooms.
