Special Offers

Salford Quays hasn’t always had the offering it does now. Hundreds of millions of pounds went into turning a shipping dock into the bustling shopping, working and dining district that it is today. The docks were turned into internal waterways and gradually restaurants, hotels, offices, cinemas and the like started to appear. Now, the area is thriving, home to cultural hubs like The Lowry and Imperial War Museum. MediaCity is now home to much of UK broadcasting and Old Trafford is home to the famous Manchester United football team. High rises have been added to the map too, including the 26-storey X1 Media City.

Aside from going for dinner in Salford Quays, there are tonnes of things to do in the area. Head to The Lowry for the largest theatre stage outside London, where you can see anything from opera to comedy. The building’s gallery isn’t to be missed either, often hosting stunning exhibitions by some of the world’s best artists. Nearby, you’ll find plenty of bars and cafes, perfect for a late brunch in Manchester, or drinks before a show.

On one of Manchester’s rare sunnier days, meanwhile, why not take a trip on a Manchester River Cruise? These marine adventures take tours of the city from the water, offering a totally different view of this amazing city. If history is more your thing, Ordsall Hall is well and truly Salford’s hidden gem. Dating back over 600 years, this stunning Elizabethan manner house offers a glimpse back through time. Afterwards, take a trip to The Trafford Centre for a spot of shopping and, yes, more eating.
