In an area that’s haemorrhaging pubs at an alarming rate, it’s a joy to discover this sympathetic and credible reboot of an Earl’s Court Victorian boozer – a success story in the making. Serving
the acclaimed 50-seater Finborough Theatre upstairs, the indie Finborough Arms offers over a dozen beers and various real ciders on tap, all visible in a cellar behind glass. Typical pulls might
include Geordie brews from Cullercoats and Urban Assault, plus Portobello Market Porter, Camden Town’s Flue Faker, European American craft imports, and Burrow Hill scrumpy. There are 10 wines to
choose from, while made-to-order wood-fired pizzas are brought in from Firezza next door; there are also hot pork sandwiches on weekends and Chelsea match days (Stamford Bridge is just down the
road). A stand-up piano invites itinerant ivory tinklers.
