The area of Rochdale is home to more than just restaurants. There are also lots of events, not least the Food and Drink Festival, to be enjoyed too. If you need somewhere to work up an appetite, however, then Healey Dell is the perfect place for just that. This beautiful wildlife sanctuary is rich in industrial archaeology, including a disused 19th-century railway, and boasts stunning woodland and spectacular waterfalls. There are Victorian-themed tea rooms too, perfect for a warm scone and cuppa after a long day’s exploring.

Rochdale town centre boasts a huge array of independent restaurants and shops, as well as plenty of familiar chains too. It’s a great place for a spot of shopping or dining, especially with the kids. There’s also a cinema and an indoor mini golf course too, perfect for a rainy day out.

Once you’ve had your fill at the tasty restaurants and cafes in Rochdale, you can head out for a spot of culture. The Heywood Civic Centre, for example, plays host to concerts and theatre shows. Elsewhere, the Middleton Arena is a great place to go for comedy, as well as music and even a seasonal pantomime or two.

For those not local to the area who might be visiting, there are some lovely B&Bs and hotels in Rochdale. There’s plenty of choice here too, so you’ll be sure to find somewhere to stay that matches your budget. Visitors might also want to head into the city, so they can check out the best restaurants in Manchester.
