A follow-up to K-10’s original kaiten joint on Copthall Avenue, this outlet goes about its business close to the hub of Broadgate. The new site is larger than the original, with clean, wood-dominant decor and an extended menu – although the emphasis remains on colour-coded plates of spanking-fresh sushi from the conveyor belt (made with the help of a state-of-the-art £30,000 sushi-rice machine). It’s refreshing to see modern takes on the classics (seared beef with taro or salmon with sesame seed and sweet potato, for example), while hot-dish highlights have included “light as a feather” prawn tempura, chicken karaage and miso lamb cutlets (“out of this world”). The kitchen will also prepare anything you fancy (within reason), and there’s a ‘try before you buy’ policy for cautious types. Takeaways and local deliveries keep the City workers happy.
