Good outdoor spot
A mid-week meeting with friends after work, rather delayed due to train and replacement bus service trouble but we were able to sit outside with a glass of rose and it's a pleasant corner.
Food is British, seasonal, and good. Bread arrives sliced thickly and grilled, and was polished off rapidly. I really fancied the courgette flowers from the small plates section, but there were none left - perhaps next time. Fresh salads to start were fine. Main courses of salmon trout with crushed potatoes and charred cucumber, duck with sweet potato and fresh cherries, and pork rib eye were straight forward and enjoyable.
Service was quite relaxed - this is fine but there were some slightly lengthy waiting times once we were all together, particularly to get the bill. There's some noise from the air-con unit on the roof, and from the traffic, but it overlooks the park nearby so feels green and calm.
