A green and leafy town in the heart of Hampshire, Eastleigh offers a quiet escape from its neighbouring area of Southampton. And whilst the larger city to the west may take centre stage, Eastleigh boasts its own admirable selection of eateries, including cosy cafes, charming British gastropubs, and fine dining Indian restaurants. Going for dinner in Eastleigh is a great way to avoid the crowds, with its more modest but equally tasty choice of spots away from the masses. Of course, this also comes with the perk of a higher chance of getting a reservation, and avoiding the queues to get a seat at the table. Whether you’re popping by for the weekend or just passing through as you head to London, there’s a place to eat in Eastleigh for every occasion. Use the options on the side of the page to help filter through the list and narrow down where to try.

Special Offers

Ideally located in between Southampton and Winchester, Eastleigh is also just a short drive from The New Forest, a national park and holiday destination within Hampshire, boasting wild horses and donkeys that roam freely throughout the area.

Eastleigh offers all of the quaint tourist attractions that you’d hope for from a small English town, where you can expect a miniature steam railway, a town museum to discover the area's past, and a little shopping centre to keep you busy in between restaurant stops. Located just off the M3, there is also easy access to London, to stop by for a brunch before heading off for a day in the big smoke. Or, just a short drive away, there is the historical waterfront city of Portsmouth to enjoy a day by the seaside when the sun makes an appearance.

Part of the Hamble Valley, situated on the river Itchen, Eastleigh offers a great spot for scenic walks by the water, or to partake in some riverside activities like fly fishing. It’s a humble town steeped in history, with one key fact being that it was the first spot where a spitfire was flown, which then ended in 310 aircrafts being ordered by the RAF. Visit on a day out with the family and check out the child friendly restaurants, or head down with friends and sample one of the more grown up options available.
