Casa Carlo restaurant in London’s Fulham is set in a local landmark, the neo-Tudor one-story building overlooking the green spaces of Eelbrook Common. The interior is madly inspired, a dazzling hotchpotch of street signs, old advertising, enamelled tube station markers and much, much more. The menu is authentically Italian, making use of the finest seasonal ingredients in classic Italian dishes. There are pizzas and a gelateria attached, too, but the menu itself is the real deal: a long list of antipasti and pastas both vegetarian and mainstream as well as special secondi piatti like pan-fried duck breast with blueberry sauce. The international wait-staff is charming. Casa Carlo is a terrific spot for family lunches and supper, gatherings of friends and just for grabbing a bit before heading out for the evening.
