Bombay Bicycle King's Road has permenantly closed
The fourth ‘sit-down’ branch of the Bombay Bicycle chain occupies the site of defunct Indian Vama on the way to World’s End. All BB’s trademarks are there, from the distinctive pink frontage to the line-up of approachable dishes with regional accents. The menu pleases curry house diehards with a full contingent of tikkas, kormas, dhansaks & biryanis, but it’s worth taking a detour for something a bit more unusual. Mangalore fish curry is a southern speciality spiked with curry leaves, while gosht kata masala is a fragrant lamb dish best enjoyed with the restaurant’s special pilau rice. There are also some decent vegetables to go with the main event – try Kashmiri dum aloo or baingan masala (aubergines in a tomato & onion sauce).
