Whether it be a big birthday, milestone anniversary or even corporate event, if you're looking for somewhere special to host an private dinner in East Sussex, The Bell in Ticehurst is not only a gorgeous venue, but its team are well equipped to ensure the smooth running of any event that you're putting together.
Nestled in the countryside, this former coaching inn dates back to the 16th century and while it's changed a lot over the years, period features such as wooden-beamed doorways and a huge hearth show off its fascinating history and add to its unique ambience. First and foremost, the space is a public house with a stunning main restaurant that boasts an olde world library feel with top hat light fixtures and stylishly arranged books. You can speak to the team about booking a large table or taking over the restaurant if an informal sit-down meal is what you have in mind.
For a more relaxed vibe, there's the old stables which have been renovated in a rustic but oh-so-stylish aesthetic. Industrial lighting on red cord hangs overhead and the space can be broken up into smaller pockets for drinks and canapes if planning a more intimate do. Finally, there's the snug. With its sofas and open fire, it's a gorgeous nook to sit and relax with a drink, but really only suitable for a small group to come together for small bites and cocktails.
For something much larger, consider The Big Room. With walls decorated with woodland murals and chandeliers swinging overhead, this spectacular space will make a big impact and is a beautiful setting for photographs. It's possible to host 90 people sitting down or 120 standing, depending on whether you'd like a formal dinner or just dancing.
In terms of food, all catering is provided in house and the impressive kitchen team work with local producers to create an ingredient-led menu that focuses on the best of British. You're welcome to work with them to create something bespoke for your private dinner.
