Got an important event and looking to surprise your guests with a venue that's truly special? Well then, we think you need to hear about REBEL Restaurant. This fine dining restaurant's concept was born in lockdown by two friends with a passion for local, seasonal produce. Together they hosted fellow foodies out of their own kitchens, before developing a programme of pop-up events and even at-home meal kits. Back in 2022, REBEL finally got its own bricks and mortar, and within just six months of opening earned a place in the coveted Michelin Guide.
The space itself is intimate and beautifully decorated, with two small dining rooms that boast sage green wall panelling, large artworks and on-trend lighting. While the restaurant isn't large, the team is excited to help you host your next special occasion or even corporate event, especially if you have clients you need to impress! Give the restaurant a call or email to chat through what's possible and all your wants and needs, but we're confident that taking over the space and making it your own will go down a treat. Of course, it wouldn't be a party without great food and drinks, and you're in luck there. REBEL works on a set course tasting menu basis with options for either five or 10 courses. Both menus feature the best produce from across the North East and are all about locality, seasonality and sustainability.
And, if your friends, family or colleagues are vegetarian or vegan, no need to worry, the team has a separate menu of beautiful plant-based dishes. Now, while plates are bound to change with the seasons, the website offers a taste of what's to come with delicious-sounding dishes like halibut with fermented artichoke, preserved lemon and pine butter, as well as whey sorbet with Dulce De Leche. Yum.
