You'll find Dobson & Parnell perched proudly on Newcastle's beautiful Quayside, and with views across the water towards the city, it's no wonder the casual fine dining restaurant proves popular with locals. As well as regular bookings, Dobson & Parnell also offers a few different private dining spaces that are ideal for groups who are planning a celebratory dinner, or for corporate occasions and client entertaining as well.
The main dining room takes Victorian brasserie inspiration, and features comfortable leather seating, as well as an elegant installation of pendant lights that hang from the ceiling and illuminate the space. This room can easily accommodate up to 65 seated guests for a private dinner, or up to 100 for more casual standing events like drinks and canape parties. The smart decor adapts easily to both private and corporate occasions.
Smaller parties can look into semi-private hire of the restaurant's stylish bar area, which can seat up to 24 guests for dinner. On Saturday evenings, the restaurant only accepts bookings of up to eight guests for in the bar.
Large parties of over eight guests can order from the restaurant's seasonal set menu, where dishes change regularly and adapt to the best in-season produce. Dishes at the time of writing include smoked duck breast with pickled walnut ketchup, orange and watercress, confit chicken leg with chasseur sauce and pomme puree, and passion fruit cheesecake with honeycomb and passion fruit sorbet. Matching wines are also available, and smaller groups have the option of ordering the five or seven course tasting menu, which is also available as a vegetarian menu.
Dobson & Parnell also features a worldly wine list, and a drinks list that includes house cocktails such as the Geordie Negroni (Hepple Gin, Campari, Martini Rosso and fresh orange) and the Champagne Mojito (Champagne, Bacardi Rum, lime, mint and brown sugar).
