Le Cafe du Marche is a long-standing French restaurant and events space in Smithfield, which seeks to offer an authentic taste of rural France in the centre of London. Le Cafe du Marche is available to hire for all manner of private dining occasions, ranging from milestone birthday dinners and family reunions to charity lunches or business meetings.
Le Cafe du Marche is home to a first-floor private dining room, known as Le Grenier (translating from French as ‘the attic’). The high-ceilinged space boasts charming oak panelling and large windows which flood the room with natural light, creating a rustic, French-accented atmosphere.
The self-contained room boasts its own dedicated entrance, as well as its own bar, toilets and kitchen. Light and airy Le Grenier can accommodate up to 62 guests for a sit-down meal and up to 100 for a standing drinks and canape reception, but the space is warm and cosy enough to suit smaller groups too.
For smaller, less exclusive affairs, you can opt to hire the semi-private Le Rendezvous room, which can accommodate up to 35 guests for a sit-down meal and also benefits from the buzz of the main restaurant, including the music of the live jazz band which plays regularly.
As for the food here, expect a French-accented menu of traditional bistro favourites, which makes the most of seasonal ingredients. The drinks list, home to various regional French wines, is also sure to impress party guests.
The events team at Le Cafe du Marche are on-hand to make sure your daytime or evening bash goes off without a hitch and are also able to provide additional extras, including live music courtesy of the resident jazz band. There is also the option to hire out the venue in its entirety, with Le Cafe du Marche able to host parties of up to 150 people when hired exclusively.
