One of London’s leafy districts, Chiswick sits in the borough of Hounslow. Despite being close enough to the city centre, and a popular choice with commuters, Chiswick has more of a village feel to it. When walking through the streets of Chiswick, you’ll spot plenty of independent shops and high end restaurants, along with wine bars and historical buildings. William Hogarth, the 18th century artist, once lived in Chiswick, and today, you can visit his house that has been preserved as a museum. For one of the best examples of 18th century Palladian architecture, you can visit Chiswick House, which is the former Lord Burlington’s home. This house, in fact, is the oldest house in Chiswick, and was built back in 1729. The district has plenty of pubs with beer gardens, and along with a visit to the Chiswick Flower Market, there are a good number of ways to enjoy a sunny day out.
