The Milestone is a historic hotel in the heart of Kensington that boasts a wealth of beautiful spaces in which to host a private dining event. From original marble checkerboard floors to Victorian tiling, leaded windows and wooden panelling, guests are invited to step back in time to the 19th-century for the evening. All of the hotel’s spaces boast sumptuous furnishings and exquisite artwork, while its modern British menus have been designed by the highly-talented executive chef Daniel Putz.
Its largest space is the main restaurant Cheneston's, a traditionally decorated room with elegant furnishings, original Victorian windows and wood panelling. This space can hold 30 people for dinner, or 40 for a standing reception, and comes complete with fresh flowers and table decorations.
The Windsor Suite is another exquisite private dining room for up to 27 seated guests. At its centre lies a spectacular chandelier and open fireplace, while aged pine-panelled walls provide an exemplary location for a special dinner with colleagues or friends.
For more intimate private gatherings, you might like to book the Oratory which was once the original chapel of the house. Able to cater for up to eight guests, this space is perfect for cosy celebrations, and boasts ornate vaulted ceilings for an enchanting feel. Finally, the Map Room is its smallest space for up to six seated guests, and would work best for small corporate meetings.
A range of private dining menus are available but all offer a refined selection of modern British dishes. Examples include duck liver parfait with spiced peach, madeira jelly and gingerbread to start, roasted rump of Yorkshire lamb with braised shoulder croquette, fondant potato, peas, mint and lamb jus for main, and a chocolate fondant with salted peanut butter ice cream for dessert.
