Black & Green is a modern neighbourhood restaurant, that whilst unassuming from the outside, offers a fine dining tasting menu from award-winning chef Andrew Sheridan. Sheridan is known for his triumphant appearance on Great British Menu, where he won the round to compete for Wales. The name ‘Black & Green’ is inspired by the restaurant's ethos, with ‘Black’ symbolising the classical cooking that’s executed here, and ‘Green’ standing for ‘sustainable’.
The restaurant is intimate with only 16 seats available, offered in both table and bar form, where guests can experience the buzz of a professional kitchen as they dine at the heart of it. Black and Green encourage a social environment, where guests can discover more about the food as they chat to chefs as they eat, and have plenty of fun along the way.
For those looking to set sail on a culinary journey, Green & Black offer private dining where the entire space can be booked to enjoy an exclusive chef’s dining experience. A bespoke menu will be created for you and your guests to make it that extra bit special, with the option of a wine flight for those who wish.
Whilst the menu changes, you can expect dishes like bread and cultured butter, orkney scallop with horseradish and red cabbage, as well as dairy beef with smoked caviar. The menu is always focused around humble, local ingredients that are high quality, and can both showcase and support the local community. Think classic European flavours that are given a contemporary twist, and presented with creative finesse.
To drink, there is a selection of fine wines available, including a choice of English options.
Whilst all guests are welcomed to join the chefs for a private dining experience, it’s worth noting that there is a minimum spend when booking the restaurant.
