Located in the heart of Barnt Green, Black & Green is a neighbourhood restaurant that combines the relaxed feel of a local eatery with the finesse of fine dining. Led by chef Andrew Sheridan, who gained notoriety during his appearance on Great British Menu in 2018 & 2019, the kitchen produces dishes with modern European dishes that are created using high quality, local ingredients. Black & Green looks to support the local community, by championing local suppliers and recruiting staff from the nearby area, to ensure the restaurant remains at the heart of the village community. Black & Green is a nod to the ethos here, with ‘black’ inspired by the classical cooking techniques used, whilst ‘green’ symbolises the sustainability practised.
With just 16 seats up for grabs, this restaurant has an intimate setting, where guests can dine at separate tables or on bar stools that sit next to the kitchen. Looking to encourage a sociable experience, guests are able to chat to chefs as they dine, whilst also sitting in their own separate dining space.If you’re looking for an exclusive experience, Black & Green can be hired for anything from business meetings to birthday parties, where a bespoke menu can be discussed to align with your requirements and create something extra special.. Or, if you’re looking to be catered for in a separate venue, for events such as a wedding, the team will also be able to help by bringing the food to you. Optional wine flights are available, with a small but considered list to choose from, including a selection of English wines.
Whilst the menu changes regularly, you can expect to find seasonal dishes such as duck, carrot and hen of the woods, as well as Orkney scallop with horseradish and red cabbage. Any special dietary requirements can be discussed with the team ahead of booking to avoid any disappointment.
