Each week, we pick one of our favourite venues and explain why it’s made the cut
Words: Lizzie Frainier
You’d be hard pushed to find a better place for giving your event a touch of magic, than the
studios that brought the wizarding world of Harry Potter to the big screen.
What’s so good about it?
There’s a whole range of sets to choose from as the main backdrop for your event, including the Great Hall, the Ministry of Magic, the Gryffindor Common Room and Platform 9¾. This year saw the addition of the Forbidden Forest, which can be used for standalone receptions or as a separate space for dessert canapés. Harry Potter fans or not (wait, what?), guests will love the exclusive atmosphere found after-hours when the punters have gone home. We particularly like the Great Hall as an option for festive parties; it’s dressed for Christmas from 18 November.
Why do bookers love it?
It’s easy to sort out all the finer details with a range of add-ons. There’s a branded double-decker bus to transport your guests direct to the venue in Watford, you can reserve talks with cast and crew members like Special Effects Supervisor John Richardson, and you can request hosts to be dressed up like Death Eaters.
