Each week, we pick one of our favourite venues and explain why it’s made the cut
With a plum Mayfair location, a starry clientele, and interiors decked out with designer names,
The May Fair Hotel ticks all our boxes when it comes to organising an event with a touch of glamour. Its offering includes ballroom-style rooms for large-scale events, a private dining room for 64 guests and 11 contemporary meeting rooms in different colour schemes.
What’s so good about it?
This luxe venue is also home to
The May Fair Theatre, one of London’s largest private screening rooms. Inside is kitted out with Italian-leather trimmed seats with fold-out tables for 201 guests and cinema-quality equipment such as a THX sound system and 3D film capabilities. With the option for a podium in front of the 8m-screen, the space also works well for product launches and conferences. Event speakers can even prepare and follow the live video and audio feeds from the Green Room.
Why do bookers love it?
Standout design features make each of the different spaces memorable. The Crystal Room seats up to 280 for a meeting under the Baccarat chandelier, the private dining room has antique walnut parquet flooring and a lovely green marble fireplace, and the Atrium, with its glass-vaulted roof, makes for a bright breakout space.
